The BBC Music Introducing Stage Playlist

The stage will be showcasing the best up and coming talent from across the UK, with artists such as Radio 1 Live Lounge Introducing winner Bonnie Kemplay, BERWYN who made the Sound Of 2021 list, The Rap Game’s Lady Ice and Graft as well as Josie Man, Finn Askew, Yard Act, Meg Ward, Master Peace and many more!

These Hidden Gems are heading to R&L so we put together a playlist…

The first feature on the playlist is the newcomer BERWYN. The Trinidad-by-way-of-East London artist rose to widespread attention after the release of his debut mixtape DEMO TAPE/VEGA. His 2020 project became the first ever mixtape to be nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize. In his latest offering this year TAPE 2/FOMALHAUT, BERWYN continues to deliver smooth vibes and soul-baring lyricism. We’ve added some of his prominent records to our playlist.

Our next feature on the playlist is South London’s very own Josie Man. Her debut single ‘Colours’ was a sparkling introduction into the industry. The single was followed by her dreamy, self-assuring, and beautifully unapologetic EP ‘aLOVINGboothang’ which we loved! New singles ‘Cuts and Bruises’ and ‘Little Space for Me’ have arrived just in time for festival season. Check them out on our playlist.

In under a year of him putting out official releases, Finn Askew has accumulated over 100 million streams. Thanks to the breakout single “Roses” from his debut EP. The 20-year-old has already demonstrated his genre-bending capabilities with his most recent singles. From the dreamy love song “Cherry Bomb” to the harder-hitting trap-rock single “Paranoia”. Finn is becoming a critic’s favourite. We’re excited to see his performances this month.
