Apply to become a volunteer with Oxfam at this year’s Leeds Festival
Fancy joining a community of people who love festivals and want to give something back?
Volunteering with Oxfam is a brilliant way to experience the festival while also helping to fight poverty around the world.
How it works…
You will be asked to complete three 8 ¼ hour shifts over the course of the festival and the rest of the time is yours to enjoy. As part of the online application process you’ll be asked to part with a one-off refundable deposit which is equal to the price of the festival ticket. This deposit will be returned four weeks after you have completed your agreed shifts and gives you access to over 20 other festivals this summer, too.
By volunteering your time, you make Oxfam’s life-saving, life-changing work possible – and take us a step closer to beating poverty for good. What are you waiting for?
This year, Oxfam will be at UK festivals to talk to people about ‘Water For Life’ – they are campaigning to get clean water running worldwide. Because if everyone had clean water, more people could build futures full of possibility, not poverty.
Take your #stepsforwater
In Asia and Africa, the average trip for women to collect water takes nearly 8,000 steps – a huge burden that’s trapping them in poverty. So, Oxfam are asking people to take a picture of their shoes and post it on social media, tagged #stepsforwater. They’ll then collect together everyone’s steps to show how many of us believe in Water For Life.
