5 reasons I Don’t Know How But They Found Me will be your new favourite band
I Don’t Know How But They Found Me or IDK for short, because let’s be real – nobody has time to write the full band name every time, have been causing a stir online for a while now.
If you haven’t got on the hype yet, here are five reasons they’re soon going to be your new favourite band.
1. IDK is a band out of time
Apparently, they faded away into obscurity after struggling to find success in the late 70s and early 80s. Only recently, the Internet has begun to uncover the performances and recordings of a band that the world wasn’t ready for. No, we don’t really know what that means either, but we’re here for it.
2. Panic! At the Disco’s Dallon Weekes is a member
After eight years with Reading and Leeds headliners, Panic! At the Disco, Weekes announced that his time with the band had come to an end. Not to worry though, the bassist and multi-instrumentalist didn’t wait long to announce his new venture.
3. Ryan Seaman is also in the band
Sound familiar? He should do. Long time drummer for Falling In Reverse, The Bigger Lights and Weekes’ former band The Brobecks knows how to lay down some stomping rhythms.
4. They’ve released one of the best videos of 2018 already
Allegedly dug up from a 1983 videotape of a bowling league tournament, the video sees Dallon and Ryan beg the crowd to check out their opening band. It didn’t work out too well for them, but that’s part of the fun of it.
5. Reading and Leeds will be their UK exclusive performance
With only a handful of shows under their belt, the band are heading across the ocean to play for the Reading and Leeds crowds. This promises to be full of energy, sing-along anthems and hopefully no bananas thrown on stage.
I Don’t Know How But They Found Me take to The Pit Stage on Sunday at this year’s Leeds.
Haven’t got your tickets yet? Seriously. What are you playing at?
