10 Essential Royal Blood Tracks
It’s going to get heavy on the Main Stage on Saturday evening when Royal Blood bring their huge riffs in their UK Festival exclusive performance. Whether you’ve been a fan since their first release in 2013, or you’re new to their world – we’re counting down 10 of their essential tracks to get you in the mood for Leeds Festival.
Lights Out
If you’ve ever wondered what cereal looks like under a microscope, just watch the video for ‘Lights Out’…
Figure It Out
If this wasn’t one of your anthems in 2014, WHAT WERE YOU DOING WITH YOURSELF THAT YEAR?!
How Did We Get So Dark?
The opening track from the album of the same name, ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ explores the ups and downs Mike and Ben encountered in the three years since the release of their debut album.
Little Monster
Don’t blame us if you have to crank this up to full volume in your headphones – we accept no responsibility for your Royal Blood induced hearing loss.
Ten Tonne Skeleton
Can we all just have a minutes silence to appreciate how Mike gets that high pitched tone from a bass guitar?
Come On Over
Great song, great lyrics, fantastic drums, what more could you want?
Careless
Speaking to Drowned in Sound, Mike told the story about how ‘Careless’ came about. “That was born out of putting guitar strings on a bass, and at first it didn’t really work to be honest, as the strings were a bit loose,” he said. “But that riff came out of it.”
I Only Lie When I Love You
Give us a song with as much cowbell as this does any day of the week.
You Can Be So Cruel
Basically the song that was written for us all to listen to on the Monday morning after Leeds Festival. It really is a cruel, cruel world that all the fun has to end.
Out of the Black
We couldn’t talk about essential Royal Blood tracks and not mention this one, could we? The angry lyrics, the video, there’s nothing we’d change about it. Keep doing you, sweetie.
