10 of Enter Shikari’s Essential Tracks
If there’s one thing you know that’s going to 100% be on the cards this year at Leeds Festival; it’s that Enter Shikari are going to open up the pits. Headlining The Pit Stage on Friday and making an appearance on the Main Stage, you’ll be getting a load of bang for your buck.
If you’re new to the world of Enter Shikari, don’t panic. We’re counting down 10 of their essential tracks to ensure you’re not stood at the side of the pit trying to mime the words and failing miserably.
1. Sorry You’re Not A Winner
SCRATCH CARD GLORY! If you don’t still clap three times after 13 years are you even an Enter Shikari fan?
2. Mothership
Go tell all your friends… that they need to get a ticket to Reading Fest. Okay, it doesn’t quite fit, but give a damn break every once in a while. The front flip around 2:33 is also underrated IMO.
3. Juggernauts
“The idea of community will be something displayed in a museum” can we just get Rou Reynolds for 2020.
4. The Last Garrison
The Last Garrison is a celebration of the fact that we’re alive, and the magnitude of luck it took for us to even exist at all.
Rou explained:
“On the one hand, there’s the idea of cheating death for however many years you’ve been on the planet, but it’s also looking at it from a bigger perspective. We’re alive right now thanks to that unbroken line of successful acts of procreation and evolution. It’s quite mind-boggling to think that if just one of your ancestors hadn’t procreated, you wouldn’t be here at all.”
5. Johnny Sniper
This song is all we need to feel alive.
6. Live Outside
Probably one of the best songs out there that speaks about anxiety and mental health, sometimes we really do just want to escape all the madness in the world.
7. Rabble Rouser
Taken from their 2017 album, ‘The Spark’ ‘Rabble Rouser’ has one of the most iconic ES lines, “I torture rock stars with pliers”, fight us if you don’t agree.
8. Destabilise
INITIALISE SHIKARI SHUFFLE!
9. Anaesthetist
Fun fact: Enter Shikari debuted ‘Anaesthetist’ live during their shows at Reading and Leeds 2014.
10. Sssnakepit
‘Sssnakepit’ is all about concentrating on the positive and caring about friendship, openness and compassion.
Anything can happen in the next half hour…. So why not grab your tickets for this year’s Leeds Festival right now.
