BBC Music Introducing returns to Leeds Festival 2018
Over 30 emerging artists have just been added to this year’s line up – that’s a lot of bands of your buck.
Last night, BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens unveiled to the world the exciting new artists who’ll be joining us on the BBC Music Introducing Stage at Leeds Festival 2018.
The iconic BBC Music Introducing Stage has seen many huge names make their first mark on the festival circuit. This year is no exception as we’re thrilled to welcome one of the UK’s most exciting and important discoveries, Sports Team to headline Friday night at Leeds. They’ll be joined by Pizzagirl, Lady Bird, The Scruff and more.
The Blinders have taken the live circuit by storm recently, blending proto punk politics and psychedelia laden lyricism – that’s why they’re worthy Saturday night headliners for Yorkshire. Joining them are Fizzy Blood, Beach Riot, Malika, Stereo Honey and more.
Championed by the likes of Zoe Ball and Steve Lamacq, Bessie Turner brings her eclectic and soulful style on Sunday night. Looking for more? You won’t have to move far because we’ll also have Yizzy, The Dunts, Skinny Pelembe, Nonamedisciple, Dylan Cartlidge and Sit Down performing on the same day.
Speaking about this year’s line up, Huw Stephens said:
“Playing at Reading and Leeds is a huge deal for everyone. The BBC Music Introducing stage is a platform for new artists, so to play it during the weekend stays with the bands for ever. This year is promising to be another great one!”
