The band have achieved so much since their record deal with Dirty Hit only last year. They have since been awarded with the NME ‘Under the Radar’ Award and performed at the awards ceremony this year in February at Brixton’s O2 Academy, London.

The next step? Playing Reading and Leeds Festival of course!

Influenced by 80s icons Prince and The Cure (reflected in their nouveau-goth aesthetic), the band’s tracks focus on themes of romance through Heather Baron-Gracie’s vocals, wrapped up in feel-good melodies. Songs of real quality such as ‘There’s a Honey’ and latest single ‘Noises’ were the peaks of their performance, and the heavier aspects of live performance really suit their style.

Their album isn’t actually out yet but is due on the 14th September, entitled ‘My Mind Makes Noises’. It’s, as you’d expect, very highly anticipated by their cult-like following that’s constantly growing!

The tent was filled with metallic ponchos and face glitter for as far as the eye could see and hands bounced in the air to his beats.

He started his set with ‘Ransom’ as the DJ rallied the crowd and the atmosphere built and built.

A Boogie was clearly destined for stardom as his dad called him Artist, a very fitting name for someone with so much talent. His tune ‘Beast Mode’ pleased the crowd, but not as much as the news of his upcoming album, which was met with cheers and screams.

Both A Boogie and his DJ got the crowd to create a mosh pit for huge hit ‘Drowning’ and they seemed to love it.

With a performance like that, it’s not difficult to see why The New York Times named him “the most promising young rapper the city has produced in some time.”

The set started with ‘Blow Your Mind’, and she certainly did that.
She dominated the stage with a fun dance routine and a group of very sparkly backing dancers, impressing the rowdy crowd.

People filled up every inch of grass around the stage to jump to hits like ‘Be The One’ and ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ as Dua gave everything she had to her performance.

It’s got to be said that her metallic trainers and glittery eye shadow almost stole the show, but they were quickly overshadowed by her amazing vocals and impressive choreography.

As she sang the lyrics ‘I look like all you need’ the crowd seemed to agree as they sang it back with all their energy. Single ‘Hotter Than Hell’ sent fans wild as they cheered and danced, enjoying the upbeat pop music.

Giving a shout-out to all those who have ever been heartbroken, her track ‘IDGAF’ resonated with many of her fans as they sang every word back to her.

She ended the set on a high note with massive tune ‘New Rules’ — and it was obvious that a lot of people saw it as a way of life, not just a song.

Dua Lipa definitely gave the performance of a lifetime this afternoon and everyone who watched her would say the same.

Hailing from Onatario, Canada, the guys have been on the scene for an eternity — and still smash out songs with that same energy and infectious enjoyment from their hay-day. The band’s consistency is beyond commendable. Renowned for their extensive touring, a big stage and slot like today was the perfect fit for Sum 41.

How did they do? Well… they absolutely nailed it.

Deryck Whibley sang his heart out across a mass of hits from opener ‘The Hell Song’ to a heart-warming cover of Linkin Park’s ‘Faint’ with Mike Shinoda, closing out the set to a mammoth reception.

Guitarist Dave Baksh — aka ‘Brown Sound’ — was melting everyone’s faces with guitar solos on multiple songs, including a first-rate cover of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’. Let’s be honest, everyone loves a bit of Queen. The crowd certainly did as an inflatable skeleton reminiscent of Iron Maiden’s imagery was erected behind the band mid-song!

Beyond the clever covers, highlights were of course, ‘Fat Lip’, ‘In Too Deep’ and ‘Still Waiting. Overall, the set was all killer with absolutely no filler!

The story goes that they were created as the ultimate life form by Jimi Hendrix, doctor of guitar and master-wolf biologist. Mental!

Japanese five-piece Man with a Mission delivered their raspy rap-rock to a jam-packed Pit Stage, donning their infamous wolf masks in front of a howling crowd.

Today’s stage wasn’t a snake or bear pit but rather a wolf pit! A rabid crowd of all ages gathered to witness the electrifying rapped verses and memorable choruses typifying the guys’ sound.

Tracks like ‘2045’ contained the heavy riffage and brutal breakdowns the onlookers seemed to be craving. The highlight was a solid and personalised cover of seminal hit ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, which drew a great response. The crowd unquestioningly followed the instructions of frontman and alpha wolf Tokyo Tanaka like a coherent pack.

If you haven’t seen these guys before, you have to take the next chance you get! Unusual but thoroughly enjoyable.
