No stranger to being the secret performer here, frontman Frank Carter (formerly of Gallows and Pure Love) brought his gritty and candid lyricism back to Leeds Festival’s ears.

Raw and rigorous, they charmed the crowd from the off, opening with raging track ‘Juggernaut’ — which sparked an instant mosh pit that soon developed into a sizable circle pit under the instruction of Frank.

The performance possessed the drive and aggression we’ve come to associate with Mr. Carter, and the tent expressed their adoration for the natural showman as they held him aloft in the crowd like a punk prophet. All the while he couldn’t remove the cheeky and infamous grin from his face.

His choice of a T-shirt simply saying ‘Disorder’ was apt as the crowd and band descended into melodic madness, typified by their rendition of ‘I Hate You’ which the crowd lapped up and belted back. Someone even walked away with drummer Gareth Grover’s sticks at the end — lucky so-and-so!

Undoubtedly one of British punk-rock’s favourite sons, it seems there is more to come from the guys as they announced a “bangin’” new album is on the way!
