Leeds Festival returns to Bramham Park on the Thursday 25th August for the ultimate rock and roll weekender in one of the UK’s most incredible settings. Festival Republic, the organisers have been working hard over the last nine months with all of the traffic agencies to create the traffic and travel plan for this year’s festival - the best option is always to use public transport and the following options are available:
By Coach Direct to the festival
National Express
National Express is making travel simpler by providing dedicated services directly in through the gates of Leeds Festival. The fun begins from the moment you get on a coach with like minded festival goers. Someone else can do all the driving so all you need to do is sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere. And just so you know you're doing your bit for the environment, your journey generates less than 10% of CO2 of those who travel by car. Be sure to check out both the festival and non festival National Express services to get you straight into the site as special festival shuttle buses will be in operation from both Leeds and York train stations, for further details please see the Rail and shuttle bus section

Rail and shuttle bus services (Leeds and York Stations)
Some members of First TransPennine Express staff are potentially on strike on Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th August and if this goes ahead, this could affect your journey to the festival if travelling by train on lines into both Leeds and York. For the most up to date advice on what services First TransPennine Express plan to run on these dates please see www.tpexpress.co.uk/industrialaction
The lines that may be affected include routes from Hull, Cleethorpes, Middlesbrough, Durham, Darlington, Scarborough, Doncaster, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester and Lancaster.
Should the strike go ahead, First TransPennine Express tickets already purchased on these routes will be accepted by alternative train operators wherever these exist on the same line - which is on the vast majority of routes. Geldards Coaches will run a new shuttle bus service from York railway station direct into the festival site on Wednesday from 12pm until 7pm to help festival goers reach the festival site. Should the strike go ahead on Friday also, Geldards will also run a shuttle bus from York railway station direct into the festival site from 9am in the morning to 7pm.
There are regular shuttle bus services to and from Leeds Railway Station (Sovereign Street), Leeds Bus Station and York Railway Station run by Geldards Coaches straight into site. For further information and timetables of the shuttle buses visit www.leedsfestbuses.co.uk or call 0113 263 9491.

ROAD DIRECTIONS TO THE FESTIVAL AND HANDY SUGGESTIONS
Please travel to the A1, M1 or the A1(M) whether you are coming from the north, south, east or west and then follow the signs from the motorway. All routes to Leeds Festival start from the A1(M).
Please note that the junction numbers on the A1(M) that we are using changed a few couple of years ago and out of date online / printed maps, and sat nav systems may not yet reflect the correct junction numbering on the ground so follow the signage on the routes rather than check against a map. If you ignore the signage or the routes, by checking on a map, or using your sat nav, you will not be able to get to site. Not only will these routes not lead you to the festival gates, but they may well lead you to a road block. You won’t save any time at all and you will also threaten the success of the plan as a whole.
Remember that traffic levels on the routes to the festival will be heavy, so please act responsibly and drive very carefully and safely.
Please travel at a safe but reasonable speed. If every car hesitates or holds up the traffic for one more minute than is necessary, it would take us nearly a fortnight to get you all in. The volume of cars attending Leeds Festival means that the success of the plan relies on each of you helping us so please – follow the signs from the motorway, do not stop on the roads, park as directed and most of all travel to the festival safely. The access roads have temporary “no stopping” traffic orders on them and the police will be enforcing this. Remember to use the loo before you get near the site and please respect the environment and don’t drop litter on your way to or from the festival.

Once on site, please follow the instructions of the traffic marshals and park where they direct you to park. You can get to all of the campsites from all of the car parks. The car parks are filled in a particular order to maximise the volume of cars coming into site at peak periods. If you arrive via Brown Gate it does not follow at all that you will be parked in the Brown car parks. It completely depends on your time of arrival. So if you have been before, don’t try and head for a favourite parking space but follow the directions of the marshals. All of the car parks are within reasonable reach of a campsite gate.
If you are dropping someone off or picking someone up, please again follow the signage from the A1(M) and then pick up the drop off signage once you have left the A1(M).
