Campsite Assistant Teams (CATs)

The CATs are volunteers based in the festival campsites. The CATs have been working hard since 2003 - helping campers to get the most out of their festival.

The CAT volunteers are there to help you 24 hours a day. If you're having trouble putting up your tent, need directions, are concerned about a group or an individuals behaviour, need a UV pen to mark your belongings, would like to complain about a build-up of litter, or let us know about facilities which require attention – please contact a CAT volunteer – they'll do their best to help!

You can contact the CAT volunteers via the campsite offices – these are located centrally within each campsite zone, if you can't find a campsite office - head towards your nearest fire tower - they'll be able to provide directions.

If you're interested in volunteering to be a CAT please visit: www.DCSiteServices.com/CATs/

Or email CATs@DCSiteServices.com

Gas Canisters and Aerosols

Between us we have made massive progress in capturing any unwanted gas canisters and aerosols from the campsites during and after the show and last year we have had about 3,000 handed in by you, which is fantastic.  When the canisters are handed in to the campsite zone managers caravan they in return then give back a raffle ticket which also means that every day some very lucky people win tickets to Leeds and Glastonbury 2009 as a result of winning the raffle.

Winners names are announced from the main stage each night.

The canisters don’t need to be empty, they can be any sort of canister or aerosol, and you can hand them in at any time 24 hours a day  to the campsite zone managers caravan whilst the campsites are open – including Bank Holiday Monday morning to enter the Monday raffle draw.

Whilst packing up to leave  have a quick scout around you and see if there are any lying around that others have left and take them to the caravan and enter the draw that way!

This is a scheme that we are very keen to develop as every canister handed in means that there is one less for idiots to throw on fires for dangerous effect.  In 2005 an innocent victim suffered serious and permanent disfigurement when a gas canister was thrown on a fire near him and this is something that we have to stop.

We have upped our zero tolerance campaign on this type of behaviour this year and anyone seen to have, or even thought to have, thrown a canister, aerosol or can on a fire will be evicted from the festival immediately.

You can also help us further by reporting any concerns that you have about the campsites and other campers by talking to the zone manager in your campsite.  They will watch over anyone that has been reported to them and you will not be identified at any point without your consent.

Let’s make 2008 the best year yet in terms of safe campsites and please also see the Love Not Riots button on this website for further information.

Anti-Social Behaviour
Anyone that is evicted for anti social behaviour such as deliberately starting large bonfires, throwing missiles at staff or throwing gas canisters or aerosols or similar on fires will receive a life time ban to all festivals that Festival Republic and Live Nation promote including Glastonbury and Download. Their details will also be passed on to West Yorkshire Police.
Fire Safety
o Candles are dangerous; torches are far less of a fire risk in and around tents.
o Watch out for flying embers and sparks, as they could start a fire, even from some distance.
o Don't burn plastic or any other toxic materials.
o Never use petrol or paraffin to start or revive a fire.
o If you cook, always do it outside, ensure that there is constant supervision and keep well away from any flammable materials.
Guidelines for the safe use of camping gas

If you must bring gas to the festival please follow the guidelines below:

Before coming to the festival have your equipment serviced.
•  Never light a gas cooker inside your tent.
•  Always store any spare canisters out of doors.
•  "EMPTY" canisters may not be completely empty. When you've removed it from your stove, store it upright outside your tent for a while to allow any gas that may be in it to evaporate before bringing it to the gas canister exchanges at the campsite offices where it will be disposed of safely and you will have the chance to enter the competition.
•  Never change gas cylinders inside your tent.
•  Never hold gas cylinders upside down when changing.
•  Never use a naked flame to search for a leak.
•  NEVER put a camping gas cylinder on a fire or try to heat it artificially. This can prove fatal. Anyone seen doing so, or even thought to have done so, will be evicted from site.
•  Check the colour of the flame: If the flame is burning blue it's fine. If it's burning with an orange or yellow flame or is creating sooty stains on your stove you may have a problem with your stove, don't use it.
•  Never attempt to refill a gas canister. If you smell gas or think you have a leak turnoff if possible. Evacuate the area and get help from a steward or on site fire team. Remember the on-site fire team are there to answer your questions.

What you should do if you discover a fire

You must get everyone out of the tent, evacuate the area as quickly as possible and get help from the nearest steward or security who will call the onsite Fire Team.

In the campsites you can go to the nearest Fire Tower (situated around the perimeter of the campsites and easily visible). In the unlikely event that you cannot find a member of security or steward nearby then please dial 999.

You may discover a fire in its very early stages and think that you can deal with it yourself. The first thing that you should remember is that fire spreads very quickly. Even a small contained fire can quickly spread, producing smoke and fumes which can kill in seconds.

If you are in any doubt do not tackle the fire, no matter how small. You can put yourself at risk by fighting the fire. If in doubt, get out, get the onsite Fire Safety Team out, stay out.

Many people put out small fires quite safely. However, some people die or are injured by tackling fires which are beyond their capabilities. Here is a simple fire code to help you decide whether to put out or get out -
•  Only tackle a fire in its very early stages.
•  Always put your own and other peoples safety first. Make sure you can escape if you need to and never let a fire block your exit.
•  Fire extinguishers are only for fighting a fire in its very early stages. Never tackle a fire if it is starting to spread or has spread to other items nearby.
•  Around 70% of fire deaths are caused by people being overcome by smoke and fumes.

Toxic Fumes
Some festival goers have created bonfires in the past using personal items or items they have found lying around. Not only is this dangerous but it is also very polluting. Tents, metal poles and sleeping bags are extremely toxic when burnt.

Please, please do not burn them when we can put them to good use in the future. Look for the donation points in the campsite to place unwanted items, which will make their way to needy charities, and out of the hands of people wanting to pollute and destroy.
Staff

There are plenty of Customer Protection Officers and Customer Support Officers in the campsites again this year.

•  Customer Protection Officers are in white tabards and are supervisors.
•  Customer Support Officers are in bottle green tabards
•  Oxfam stewards are in yellow or orange tabards
•  Campsite Assistance Teams are in turquoise tabards
•  Traffic marshals are in royal blue tabards
•  Fire marshals are in red tabards
•  Zone Managers are in burgundy tabards and are overall managers of their zone.

If you have a complaint to make about Customer Protection or Support Officers, please make a note of their tabard number (so we can identify who you are referring to) and speak to one of the following:

Zone Managers - these are based in each campsite zone, at the arena entrance, and in the arena itself. They are dressed in burgundy coloured tabards with the title "Zone Manager" on them. Their role is to oversee their zone and to direct the actions of staff. They are completely independent from security and we have employed them in order that we have a manager in each area. Please use them.

Welfare staff - these are based in the Welfare Tent in the Village and at Yellow Gate. They are present in this tent 24 hours. They are dressed in tabards with Ministry of Welfare on them. Their role is to look after festival goers and they offer a complaints / suggestions feedback service. Please use them.

Please make good use of these staff and ask them if you need any help or if you have any concerns at all. All of the above will pass on your complaints and comments to Festival Republic straight away.

Crime Reduction

The following is advice from West Yorkshire Police:

Car Keys, Cash Credit Cards, Mobile Phones, Wallets, Purses and other valuable items should be kept with you at all times. Do not leave them in unattended vehicles or tents.

Large Gatherings of people such as this can provide easy pickings for thieves. If you present them with easy opportunities they will take them. If you are reporting the theft of a mobile phone you will be required to first contact your network provider and have the handset blocked. This will ensure that its use will be blocked across all UK networks even if the SIM card is changed, and will render it useless to the thief. A list of contact numbers for UK network providers is available at the Information and Welfare Tent. West Yorkshire Police are not based on site but their command is run from Wetherby Police HQ. The crime reporting number is 01924 293523. Only in an extreme emergency should you call 999. Crimes can also be reported via Security"

Please use the lockers at left luggage point near the arena entrance to store your belongings.

Crime Prevention

Festivals are full of young, fun loving and like-minded people but beware they are also an easy patch for career criminals and opportunists who know how festival goers tick, and the Leeds Festival is sadly no exception and so please read through the advice below and plan ahead for the event.
Festival Republic, the Leeds Festival organisers, and West Yorkshire Police have teamed up together to provide information to both festival goers and parents alike that may help those who will be attending the  Leeds Festival this year..
As with each year, we are all keen to ensure that  festival goers do what they can to prevent themselves from becoming a victim of crime and we have compiled the following festival savvy tips – some tips probably wouldn’t work anywhere else but at a festival!

1. VALUABLES
Quite simply – please DON’T BRING THEM!  Don’t be flash.  Ipods, MP3 players etc - you don’t need them here – there is enough going on for you to be entertained without them.
If you have to bring them please use the left luggage facility rather then store them in your tent.
Campsite Assistance Teams (CATs) in the campsites have UV pens that you can use to write your postcode or name onto any valuables for easy identification.
Split your cash and cards into two hoards so that if one lot goes – you have back up
Don’t carry anything valuable in your programme pouch or on a lanyard – unless it is kept hidden under a shirt or jumper.
Don’t carry anything in back pockets – the event is busier than Oxford Street, especially at the stages, and chances are you have had a drink and so you will be less aware than usual and pick pockets love it.  Pockets with zips are better.
Don’t leave anything valuable in your car – maybe go and check on your car twice during the show?  Leave your glove compartment empty and also open.

2. CAMPSITES
If you have any concerns about your safety in the campsites camp somewhere well lit, go near a fire tower or by your zone managers caravan.
Introduce yourself to campsite staff, show them where your tent is, stick a funny flag on it so it’s easy for them to see, and ask them to keep an eye out.  They will.
Introduce yourself to your neighbours and set up a neighbourhood watch system, it may sound naff but experience shows that the best and friendliest campsites are the ones with people in that make the effort to do so.  More friends to party with too.
Report anything or anyone suspicious to campsite staff – you can do this anonymously if you wish and that is what the staff are there for.
Don’t put a padlock on your tent as this will invite thieves.
Don’t bury your valuables by your tent as someone is bound to be watching.

3. PERSONAL SAFETY
Make sure your mobile is charged up on a daily basis - in the early afternoon - so that it is ok for the night when it’s dark, the stages get busy and you are more likely to lose each other.  Traders sell battery operated phone charges if you need them.  Ask at the information tent (in the Village near the Arena Entrance) for exact locations of these traders.  Plan ahead.  Festival time is slow and it can take a long time to get from A to B.
Keep your phone well hidden – how annoying would it be to lose all your contacts?
Stay in groups and be tolerant of friends slowing you down.
At night stay on the main roads in the campsites – don’t go exploring darker, quieter areas –you can do that in the day
Arrange an easy meeting point with your mates before you get to the event and also three times a day (eg.  2pm, 6pm and 1am) that you will be there if you get split up.  No one likes to be left to have fun on their own for long.
If you do become a victim of crime – DO NO RESIST – give them what they want and make sure you get a good look at them or their clothes, so that when you report them we have a good head start.  Also, make a note of exactly where you are if you can – look out for loos, fire towers, unusual tents, what colour the bunting is and what the road name is etc
The welfare tent is there for you in the Village near the arena entrance.  These facilities are there to help you if you need it.
If you have an incident with a security guard, steward or any other member of our staff that you want to tell us about – please make a note of their tabard number, or the name on their pass.  Without this information we can do very little as identifying them without this number or name is very difficult.
Please don’t be alarmed by our advice – just be fore warned that it does happen to some people and we don’t want it to be you.  Plan ahead.

Emergencies

In an Emergency please contact the nearest member of security or steward for help.

There is an onsite fire fighting team who are fully equipped to deal with any fires and are backed up by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services. There are fire observation towers located around the perimeter of the campsites. There are fire extinguishers located throughout the site and many of the stewards and security staff have been trained in fire safety in addition to the onsite fire fighting team.

There are medics onsite who are fully equipped to deal with all situations and have a fleet of 5 ambulances along with First Aid posts at the stages in the arena and one in the arena in addition to the main onsite hospital in the Village. The medics also have roving patrols and provide an Accident and Emergency facility with full resuscitation, GP facilities and surgeries and psychiatric treatment. There is a landing point for air ambulances if required.

Lost Children / People
Lost children are looked after by the Welfare team and all relevant agencies are contacted.
Lost people should go to the Welfare tent.
The Samaritans
•  The Samaritans operate confidentially providing an ear and support for the distressed Festival goers.
•  They are available 24 hours per day during the event from noon on Thursday to noon on Monday and are situated in the Village Area.
•  They offer a confidential, non judgmental, listening service for anyone passing through a crisis who needs to talk.
•  They are particularly there for people who may be considering taking their own life.

New campsite names

If you want to plan where to camp with friends before you arrive, these are the names of the campsites. They are the same as last year –

BROWN CAMPSITE (including campervans)
GREEN CAMPSITE
ORANGE CAMPSITE
RED CAMPSITE
BLUE VALLEY CAMPSITE
WHITE VILLAGE CAMPSITE
YELLOW BUBBLE CAMPSITE

Family Camping
Family Camping is situated in the Brown Campsite next to the Campervans. Please ask stewards to direct you there.
Campfires

Leeds City Council have again given us the go ahead to allow small campfires fuelled by clean wood in the campsites but not bonfires. Small campfires are ones where the flame itself is below knee height and less than one pace wide.

They will be monitored and will have to be put out if they are exceeding these limits. We have a firewood trader onsite so that you can buy clean wood for your small campfires. Campfires are not allowed in the arena or in the car parks.

Bonfires

Bonfires are not permitted anywhere at all at the festival.

No fires at all are allowed in the arena. No fires at all are allowed in the car parks. Anyone seen creating a bonfire or fire in the arena or the car parks will be subject to being evicted from the festival site on the spot.

Campsite Offices
The campsite offices are based in caravans in each zone. They are open 24 hours and they are the bases for the Zone Managers, the CAT (Campsite Assistance) teams and they are also where the gas canister / aerosol exchange points and tent recycling points are located. The areas in front of the campsite offices will be used for the DJ parties each night so please keep these areas free from tents. They are also the place to make complaints if you want to. Especially about security if that is needed.

Emergency Access Lanes on the campsite

If you are camped in an emergency access lane, your tent will have to be moved by our security teams. If you return to your tent to find that this has occurred, please make a note of the campsite that you are in (Orange, Green etc) and go to the nearest Campsite Office or fire tower (situated near the toilet blocks) for assistance. If you are not sure about whether you are camped inappropriately or not, please check with the Campsite Assistance Teams (CATS).

If you find yourself without accommodation due to your tent being removed then please go to the Welfare Tent in the Village Area which is open 24 hours. They will be happy to help you. Thank you for your co-operation. Please note that although we will make all reasonable efforts to take care of your property, no responsibility can be taken for any items that are lost or damaged during tent removal.

Quieter Campsite - Brown Campsite
If you would enjoy being in a quieter campsite, then please ask the security or CAT teams to direct you to the Brown campsite.
Zone Managers
We will again have the Zone Manager positions in each campsite zone. The Zone Managers are on duty 24 hours based in and around their campsite office. They are there to run their zone and to help you with any questions or support. Please use them.

Lockers

This year we have teamed up with Lockerhouse to make sure you can keep your belongings safe at Reading Festival. You get to keep a souvenir branded padlock after the event too! Book now, and be sure to keep your stuff safe all weekend. The lockers also have mobile phone charging facilities, which require 12v Car adapters/chargers.

IMPORTANT! - PLEASE NOTE: the locker sizes are 25cm wide x 15.5cm deep x 10cm high - so they are the right size for small valuables (mobiles, wallets, cameras). The Locker is used at Hirers own Risk.

These are only available to Weekend Camping ticket holders.

Fire Safety Tips
o Candles are plain dangerous; torches are far less of a fire risk in and around tents.
o Watch out for flying embers and sparks, as they could start a fire, even from some distance.
o Don't burn plastic or any other toxic materials.
o Never use petrol or paraffin to start or revive a fire.
o If you cook, always do it outside, ensure that there is constant supervision and keep well away from any flammable materials.

PLEASE RESPECT YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND DON'T DROP LITTER ON YOUR WAY TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL.

Please do not use your sat nav system to get directions to the festival as there are specific routings into site depending on which direction you are approaching from. Instead please follow our directions below and the temporary festival road signage that we put in place – thank you.

PDF PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR A ROUTE MAP

Distances

The following is a list of distances from the site to nearby villages and towns (calculated by shortest road journey rather than as the crow flies)

•  Bramham Park to Thorner 1.6 miles
•  Bramham Park to Bramham 2.6 miles
•  Bramham Park to Seacroft (Tesco) 5.9 miles
•  Bramham Park to Leeds 11.3 miles
•  Bramham Park to Wetherby 5.4 miles
•  Bramham Park to Harrogate 14.4 miles
•  Bramham Park to York 17.7 miles
•  Bramham Park to Leeds Bradford Airport 18.3 miles

Pick Up / Drop Off Point

The drop off and pick up point is located in the Red Day Car Park / Drop Off accessed via Red Gate 1 on the A64 travelling eastbound. You can drive into the site, drop off or pick up passengers by the entrance to the campsites and then travel out of site via Red Gate 2 which leads you back to the A64. Please follow the signage.

Please come straight into site as there is absolutely NO STOPPING allowed on the A64 or at the gates. Once well inside the site you will be able to park up, obtain information and exit back onto the A64.

Shuttle Bus Services

There will be frequent shuttle buses running from Leeds City Railway Station and Leeds Coach Station to Bramham Park. There is also a service from York Station on Thursday and back to York Station on Monday.
PDF
Click here to download the full timetable in Excel (.xls) format.

The shuttle bus stops will be signposted from the Railway Stations and Coach Station.

www.geldardscoaches.co.uk are operating the shuttle service during the Leeds Festival.

There is plenty of capacity on the buses for all of your stuff and you will not have to walk far to the campsites onsite from the bus station nor will you have to walk far from the Railway Station / Coach Station to the bus stop.

The shuttle bus service will also run to and from the Tesco Extra supermarket at Seacroft so that you can go and stock up on essentials although there is also a supermarket onsite selling everything you might need at the registered retail price. Consider using the shuttle bus to get to and from Tescos if you need to go there as it is likely to be much quicker and easier than leaving the site with your car and coming back in again.

Using public transport and the shuttle bus is the best way to arrive at Leeds Festival. The shuttle buses get you nearer to a festival entrance than any other means of arriving onsite, they run regularly, the operation should be smooth and hassle free and there will be enough shuttle buses to meet the demand.

The shuttle buses will drop you off very close to the railway station or bus station and you will not have to queue as long to get on a shuttle bus as you would in a car to get to or leave the car park. Plus you can make friends on the way, enjoy a drink and feel good about your reduced impact on the environment and the fact that a part of your fare is being donated to charity!

The fares for this year's shuttle bus service are being held at the same price as last year to encourage you to use it. The journey time from Leeds to Bramham Park is around 45 minutes.

The shuttle bus fares are:
£4 single from Leeds Railway / Coach Station to Bramham Park
£7.50 open return from Leeds Railway / Coach Station or York to / from Bramham Park (£7 if booked in advance)
£5 cheap day return from Leeds Railway / Coach Station to / from Bramham Park
£15 travel card - as many journeys as you like to any of the destinations from Wednesday to Monday.
£3 return to Tescos.

You can buy tickets on the bus or at the bus station onsite at Yellow Gate or you can book on 0113 263 9491 (office hours)

By Car
If you must bring your car, please consider the following in the interests of the environment and also to reduce congestion:
•  Transport as many people as possible with you
•  Travel at off peak times (the peak time for arriving onsite is 08.00 to 14.00 on the Thursday)
•  Consider car sharing
Car Sharing

Car sharing will help save you money by splitting the petrol costs, reducing the amount of congestion on the roads leading into the festival, and getting you onsite quicker. Of course by car sharing you’ll also be kinder to the environment by reducing fossil fuel use and CO2 emissions. If you have to come by car to the festival because the bus or train just won’t work for you, please try and fill up all the seats in your car.

So Double Up & Cut Down …  four people in your car will bring the per person CO2 impact down to less than travelling by train. Join forces with others and fill up all your seats.

Last year we had 130 liftshare matches and we’d like to try and reach 500 this year.

Below are three schemes you can join. Have a look through them and see which one suits you.

SAFETY FIRST

Please read this practical safety guide on liftsharing put together by A Greener Festival: www.agreenerfestival.com/Lift_Sharing.pdf

•           Please note that all arrangements which you make are private arrangements between you and other sharers. The Festival does not arrange lift sharing or have any liability to or for lift sharers.
•           Make sure you know the identity of the person or persons you are sharing with.
•           Having a home telephone number is sensible precaution and make sure you leave details of the lift share, the driver and passenger's number(s) and home address if possible with friends and/or family.
•           Take your mobile phone with you.
•           If you are at all uncomfortable with any arrangements, or the condition of the vehicle being used, then make other plans.
•           If a vehicle is not taxed it is possible the driver has no driving license, no insurance and no MOT.
•           Safety first: trust your instincts and use common sense.

Car Parking

Parking is separate to the campsites in adjacent fields.
There are six areas for public car parks: red, orange, green, brown, guest / disabled and campervan. Please make a note of the colour / name of your car park so you can find your car again.

CAR PARKING ON SITE IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF AN EVENT TICKET.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE ELSE AS ANY CARS PARKED ILLEGALLY WILL BE REMOVED.

Travel Impact

Walking or riding your bike to the festival will obviously put out the least amount of CO2 emissions, but that’s not practical for everyone. If you’re looking for motorised transport, travelling by coach to the festival is by far the lowest impact way to travel if you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint in association with attending the festival. Train is the next best option in terms of CO2 emissions.

If you travel alone to the festival by car, you are emitting approximately TEN TIMES the amount of CO2 than if you travelled to the festival by bus and three and a half times as much as if you travelled by train.

Coming to the festival by coach or train will not only reduce total CO2 emissions, it will also help to reduce congestion in the carparks and on the surrounding roads.

If you have to come by car because the bus and train just won’t work for you, please try and fill up all the seats in your car. As an example, if you are driving an average sized petrol car, having four people in it will bring your impact down to just a bit more than travelling to the festival by train, and just under twice as impactful as travelling by coach. So it really does make a difference if fill up all the seats.

_____________

Figures for these calculations were taken From DEFRA July 2007 Report: Passenger Transport Emissions Factors. http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/business/envrp/pdf/passenger-transport.pdf

Car Travel
(average sized petrol car)
- 335 gram C02 per mile (1 passenger)
- 167.5 grams CO2 per passenger mile (2 passengers)
- 83.75 grams CO2 per passenger mile (4 passengers)

Train Travel (National Rail diesel trains – average passenger numbers per annum)
- 96.32 grams per passenger mile

Coach Travel (Annual average figures of coach types and carriageways)
- 32.88 grams CO2 per passenger mile

If you have any questions at the event, ask at the Guest List for Sharon Reuben (Reading) or Ola Nilsson (Leeds / Latitude). Guest List opening hours will be displayed on-site.  All events have Welfare, First Aid and Information Points.

Security Guards & Stewards are clearly identifiable by their shirts and should be able to give general assistance or information. If you experience problems dealing with staff on site, please tell us, preferably at the event.

Several disabled stewards work at Reading & Leeds Festivals.
Site Layout & Ground Conditions
Bramham Park is a parkland estate. The arena is fairly flat but some backstage areas are very steep, including the route from the disabled campsite through the hospitality area, into the arena. It is, however, the best and most convenient location for the campsite. The ground is generally uneven and grass throughout with no pathways or covered walkways. Adverse weather conditions can drastically alter the ease of movement. We are always looking at ways to improve access.
Disabled Campsite & Hospitality Area
The campsite is shared with between guests and disabled customers. Due to the fire risk it is a condition of our licence that cars and tents be separated. We will reserve the parking spaces closest to the campsite for disabled customers displaying a car pass.

Each disabled customer may have up to three people camping with them, and one car. If you wish to camp in a larger group, you can do so in any of the public campsites.

We give disabled customers access to the hospitality area. The route from campsite to the hospitality area is a newly cut path through a wooded area and the ground is rough.

The hospitality area features a covered bar, seating, music, food and toilet facilities. The area is all grass and a natural ‘V’ shape. LIMA GATE is the most direct route from the guest area into/out of the arena, for which you require a DISABLED ACCESS wristband. There will be a charging point for electric wheelchairs in the campsite.
Toilets
There are adapted toilets at each toilet block in the arena, at each stage viewing platform, in the disabled/guest campsite and in the hospitality area.
Viewing Platforms
Disabled Access Wristbands give access the viewing platforms. Platforms are solely for disabled people and PA’s. We plan to have a viewing platform at every music stage.
Access ramps will have at a gradient of 1:12. There will be lighting on the main stage ramp and some seating for PA’s. The Main stage platform is not covered.
Attitude Is Everything provides a number of disabled stewards on the viewing platforms.
Use of laser and strobe lights at the event will be preceded by announcements from the stage. Those affected should allow sufficient time to leave the area before effects begin, bearing in mind it can be slow to move through the crowd.
Welfare
This service operates 24-hours a day, as does the medical tent.
Guest List
The guest list is at Yellow Gate on Thorner Road and the shuttle bus drop off is near by.
Early Entry Tickets
As a condition of our licence any person wishing to camp IN PUBLIC CAMPSITES between 6pm Wednesday 20 August and 8am Thursday 21 August must purchase an early entry permit, costing £10 per person. There is no 2-for-1 on camping permits and they are not valid for the disabled or guest campsites. If you purchase one, you may camp in PUBLIC CAMPING and move into Disabled Camping when it opens on Thursday. Passes are not administered by this office. There are no exceptions to this and there is STRICTLY no admission to site to camp prior to 6pm Wednesday 20 August.

Green Initiatives at Leeds

At Leeds Festival we aim to reduce the environmental impact of the festival and offer you ways of enjoying yourself while also doing your part to reduce your impact.

Result!

At Leeds Festival 2007 we introduced several new initiatives including the beer cup deposit and refunds, where more than 90% of the pint cups were collected for recycling. Well done everyone for getting into the project. Some people took it on with a lot of vigour, making some extra cash... The record was 1000 cups handed in in on
